Surfin: Buyin’ Parts, Part Three

This week, Surfin’ readers share their memories about all the places where they bought parts way back when.

  1. I'm surprised no one brought up Barry Electronics. They advertised in several ARRL pubs going back many years. Barry's was located downtown Manhattan (NYC) and had a huge inventory. They did lots of overseas mail order. There was a HF station in operation and, if you knew Jan (he was the head sales guy), you could make a few contacts during your lunch break. I spent many 120 minute lunch hours at Barry's. Robert N9EF
