  1. I got into amateur radio as a result of my interest in Amateur Astronomy. I was at a star party 30 years ago and one of the younger members had to call his parents. Well, back then before cell phones there was amateur radio. We were in the middle of nowhere. There happened to be two brothers that were amateur radio operators. One of them took his ht and called the parents. I thought that was cool. Of course that was 30 years ago. I ended up getting my license and have enjoyed both hobbies.

And I'll bet you thought this would be something to do with Amateur Radio!
