  1. I agree with the commentators who recommended investigating the thermocouple as an alternative power source for FD an emergency use.

    First it would be good to verify that the thermocouple is a practical power source for radio use. The Soviets sometimes exaggerated their achievements. Powering the thermocouple from a fireplace is an attractive possibility. A solar collector is another.
